Larry R. Apfel Jr., 68, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2026, in Portsmouth, Virginia. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Larry, affectionately known as Russ, was a lover of music, nature photography, and, above all, a good time. He had a love for life and was truly the life of the party.

Larry was preceded in death by his loving parents, Nancy and Larry Sr., and his soulmate, MaryAnn.

He leaves behind his siblings, Kelly and Allison; his children, Andrea, Stacy, and Nicole; his 11 grandchildren, Eric, Andrew, Lisette, Juan, Carlos, James, Thomas, Angela, Edward, Ethan, and Mary Ann; and his two great-grandchildren, Jaliya and Alani.

His final days were filled with joy, laughter, and the love of family, a fitting reflection of the connections that meant so much.

Larry will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved him.
