7/3/42 – 12/5/21 Lois Louise Vanness, 79, of Chesapeake, VA, formally of Allegan, MI, and Massillon, OH passed away on December 5, 2021. Lois was known for her bright smile, love of family, and all animals. Lois was resilient despite suffering from Multiple Sclerosis for many years. She will be truly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harm and Lucille (Kuhlers) Dirks. She leaves behind to mourn and miss her, her daughters Kimberly (John) Leovich of Chesapeake, VA, and Angela (Rick) Schanz of Allegan, MI., two brothers, Don (Joyce) Dirks of Erie, Colorado, Gary (Jackie) Dirks of Onalaska, WI, two sisters, Patricia Tendall and Sandra (Mark) Haugen of Forest City, IA, and a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
