Obituary For Marci Allison Oden

Hatteras, NC

Marci Allison Oden, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014.

Born on December 5, 1972, Marci was a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC and The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD. Aside from her art, she loved to cook, the outdoors, tandem surfing and anything to do with horses. She was most recently employed at Fox Farms in Virginia Beach, VA, taking care of horses and she also did volunteer charitable work with Wahine Surf Club.

She is survived by her parents, Jeff and Kathleen Oden of Hatteras, NC; mother, Linda Midgette of Virginia Beach, VA; grandmothers, Josephine Oden of Hatteras, NC, and Emily Royston of Severna Park, MD; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Oden, Midgette, Austin and Royster families. She is also survived by numerous friends from Hatteras, NC, and Wahine Surf Club in Virginia Beach, VA, and her special friends, Roger Carrera and James Durbin of Virginia Beach, VA.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at Hatteras Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Yellowhouse Ministry of Hatteras Island or Dare Challenge of Dare County, NC.
