Obituary For Marilyn Joyce Smith

Marilyn J. Smith, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away in Hampton on June 5, 2025, at the age of 76. Her life was a shining example of generosity, resilience, and love — a light that touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted sons, Russ and Chris, and her treasured grandchildren: Polo, Krystal, Cianni, Kamani, Lil Chris, Khloe, Zaa, Shana, and Lil Shayne. Each of them was a source of great pride and joy in her life.
Marilyn was a cherished sister to Doris, Tracy, Linda, and her brothers Anthony and David. Her cousin Ellen held a very special place in her heart, as did her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Known for her boundless generosity, Marilyn would give anyone her last without hesitation. She loved to travel and experience life to the fullest. Her laughter, wisdom, and strength will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to have shared in her journey.
To know Marilyn was to be embraced by kindness. She was deeply loved and will be truly missed. May her soul rest peacefully, surrounded by the warmth and love she gave so freely.

Mic my dear sister I'm going to miss you so much. We have been through so much together the good times and bad times. I remember when didn't have a Christmas tree one year so we went out and found a limp and decorated it and we were so proud of it. I'm going to miss you making me feel like a Queen when I visited you and that good old apple brownies you used to make . You were gifted with so many talents not to mention sewing. I can see you now telling us that we are comforted by the love that surrounds us during difficult times and what we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us .RIP my beloved sister we got each other ❤️ Doris

Auntie, I am going to miss you so very much. I have nothing but great memories with you. You always would tell me, you're the daughter I never had... My favorite memory, is when I was about 7 years old, and my mother told me not to go to the park and I went anyway. Well I was hit by a car and got a hole in my brand new pants. I came straight to your house and I asked you to patch the hole in pants because,my Momma was going to get me. You would always laugh about it as we got older and tell me Tasha you said, "auntie can you put a patch on it"we will always laugh about that. Fly high My Sweet Angel. I will always carry you in my heart. Love, your niece/daughter, Tasha 💞💞💞😘😘😘 hugs and kisses forever.
