Obituary For Marilyn Sue Knoth

Marilyn, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

Born on September 5, 1943, Marilyn was an extraordinary woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. Originally from Montague, Michigan she married her high school sweetheart, Bill Knoth, of Shelby, Michigan who predeceased her in 2021. She and Bill spent many years as owners of the Stony Lake Yacht Club and were avid golfers known at local courses and many around the country. She loved to dance and brought so much joy to others through her many passions including Queen of the local Red Hat Society.

Marilyn had a talent for planning dinner dances, making Christmas magical, and organizing family events and friendly get-togethers. Her homemade cards were a treasured gift to all who received them, and her smile could light up any situation. Marilyn loved deeply and generously, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was an amazing wife, loving mother, devoted grandmother, and adoring great-grandmother.

Marilyn is survived by her brother Max and wife Kay, sisters-in-law Beth and Lise, her children: Jeanne and Brian, Ben and Shasta, Suzy and Jeff, Billy and Heather, Jenny and Peter, and Rima and Don and family. She was also a proud grandmother to Danny and Christina, Dean and Lauren, Jack, Brenda and Brandon, Scotty, Morgan, Isabelle, Brynn, Tyrus, Landon, Shawn, Quinn and Brian. Her legacy lives on through her great-grandchildren: Addy, Blake, Isaac, Bryce, Joel, Trinity, Camilla, Story, and Ivy.

She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends but will be forever remembered for her kindness, creativity, and love.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Alzheimer's research.
