Obituary For Mark Andrew Davis

Mark Andrew Davis, of Virginia Beach, lost his battle to Cancer on October 26, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Davis; two daughters, Jennifer Ballance and Leigh Ann Parks parents Capt. Ted and Helen Davis; and sister, Charlene Davis.

Mark was born on March 14, 1951. As a child, his family moved around with the Navy and he was fortunate enough to live in several cities and countries. He was an incredible athlete with exceptional talent in baseball and track, earning many awards through his college career. In younger years, Mark loved to go sailing with friends. He had an undeniable love for antique cars, and spent most of his free time in the garage working on special projects. His pride and joy was a 1974 Triumph TR6 that he rebuilt from the frame up. Mark was a regular at ODU sporting events and loved to tailgate for the football games.

Mark's professional career in concrete work, built around his love for architecture and creativity, extended to pool construction, paving, and even landscaping. He was a notorious hard worker and perfectionist; he never missed a detail. Mark attended Spring Branch Community Church where he always enjoyed the music and teachings. A memorial service is being held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 2:00pm at Spring Branch Community Church - 1500 N. Great Neck Rd. Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The family would like to thank the Sentara Hospice House for their extraordinary level of care, attention, and services that went above and beyond. Also, a special thank you to all of Mark's close friends and neighbors for the incredible amount of support throughout this long journey. Your dedication and love conveys a declaration of character for the man Mark was.

Chance made us neighbors but hearts, laughter, and caring made us friends. A big brother, my savior during deployments, a warm smile all the time, a talented and hardworking professional craftsman who taught Mark all about palm trees! Words cannot adequately convey our love and respect for Mark, Kim and the Davis family. The blanket of memories that warm our hearts is woven with the gorgeous, elegant threads of friendship and love! Rest in peace dear friend- you will always be loved!
