Mary Elizabeth Smoot, born on August 31, 1943, in Rappahannock County, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 82.

Throughout her life, Mary was known for her strength and resilience. After enjoying a fulfilling career, she entered retirement with grace, cherishing the time she spent with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Resie Jenkins, and her father, George Kennedy.

Mary leaves behind her loving son, Frank Kennedy; her grandchildren, Allen Kennedy, Steven Kennedy, Aaron Kennedy, and Owen Kennedy; and her great-grandson, Bronson Kennedy, all of whom will hold her memory dear.

Services to honor and celebrate Mary's life will be held at a later date. Simply Cremation is assisting the family during this difficult time.

Mary's spirit will be remembered as a beacon of warmth and kindness, leaving a legacy of love for all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
