Mary Anderson

May 16, 1933 – August 7, 2023

Mary Anderson of Williamsburg completed her life’s journey on August 7, 2023. Mary was born in New Jersey to George and Beatrice Delahaye. She was a graduate from St Cecelia's High School and Berkeley Secretarial School. Mary travelled the world with her military family while her husband, Andy, served with the US Army Field Artillery. The family eventually settled permanently in Williamsburg. Mary worked over thirty years for the College of William and Mary and was very proud of the fact that she was the Executive Assistant to three presidents: Thomas Graves, Paul Verkuil and Timothy Sullivan. Mary will be remembered fondly for her quick wit, her love of cats and cruises and her kind and generous nature. Her husband, Loren, “Andy”, her son, David and her daughter, Traci, preceded Mary in death. Her daughter, Valerie, her son, Jay, and her extended family in New Jersey and Ireland will remember her with tears and laughter. A funeral mass will be arranged at a future date at Mary’s beloved church, St. Bede. Contact Valerie Anderson for details.
