Virginia Beach, VA
Mary Leslie Smith, 66, of Mill Dam Road, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 in her home.
Born July 10, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Julian and Josephine Darsey. She was the widow of Williard V. Smith.
Survivors include her son, Kevin Michael Stewart; a grandson, Robert Charles Stewart; a sister, Frances Schandel and husband Dave; nephews, Brian and Jeff; close friends, Julie McCallum, Donald White and Mary Bell.

Kevin and Fran, it is with great sadness that I learned of your mother/sister's passing. She and I were best friends when we were 13 and 14. I remember you well, Fran, and Kevin, I did come to VA Beach for a visit and have a picture I took of you and your mother when you were just a baby. That is the last time I saw Mary, but I have often thought of her through the years, but didn't know how to get in touch. This is a sad way to find her. I do send to you my love and prayers. Dear Kevin, I had know idea that your mom passed away. After my dad passed away (Bill Smith), your mom and I had drifted away. We would still send Christmas cards to each other. My husband and I did get to see her picture in the paper today of her passing. I sure would like to talk to you. I left my email here, so please contact me through my email. She always had a sweet smile and the picture of her was beautiful. She is now dancing with Jesus and giving Him all her smiles. God Bless you Kevin, Kim Supan
