Maurice William "Moe" McQuade, 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Hampton, VA, on January 8, 2012. Born on March 20, 1932 in Trenton, NJ, he graduated from Trenton Catholic Boys High School in 1950. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy. He retired in 1993, from his work with The State of New Jersey, where he served as the Executive Director of Mortuary Science, Marriage Counseling and the Board of Veterinarians.

He is survived by loving children Maureen McQuade Pettine of Greenbackville, VA; Joseph McQuade of Hampton, VA; Mark McQuade of Tampa, FL; and Maryclare McQuade of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by his former wife of 17 years, Claire Sullivan McQuade of Sun City Center, FL, with whom he remained friends. He leaves behind grandchildren, Sara, Emily and Nicholas Pettine of Greenbackville, VA; and his brother Joseph McQuade of Lambertville, NJ; and his sister, Regina McQuade Zeise of Lawrenceville, NJ. He is also survived by his beloved niece and nephew, Kathleen Zeize Catogge of Lawrenceville, NJ, and Otto Zeise of Columbia, TN and their families.

He was predeceased by his beloved parents, the late Anastasia (Russell) and Joseph J. McQuade.

A memorial Mass will be held at The Church of the Sacred Heart in Trenton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
