Obituary For Michael C. Rock

Chesapeake- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Rock on Sept 10, 2021. Mike stayed a lifetime resident of Chesapeake after growing up in the Princeton Halls/Westover neighborhood. He was the proud Owner/Operator of Awesome Rock Drain Cleaning for over 20 yrs. Mike had a huge heart and would just as much help you fix your problems over the phone than to fix it for you and charge you a minimal price. Left to cherish his memories, fiancé Kitty; Daughters Ashley (Chris), Nancy (Vern), Kristen (BJ); Brother Jimmy (Pam); Sister Ruth (Diana); 16 grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and MANY customers he called friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Shelby Rock and parents Mary Lou and James "Buddy" Rock. A memorial service, in his honor, is planned for 2 pm on Saturday, Sept 18, 2021 at Discover Church, 3232 S. Battlefield Blvd Chesapeake, VA 23322. A reception will follow after the service on the church grounds outside. Indoor CDC protocols including masks are requested during the indoor service.     Oh my dear friend Mike... for 10 years you were my next door neighbor and what a great friend and neighbor you were. Always enjoyed our years of back yard chats. And I will miss him pulling in my driveway to catch up, whenever he was in the neighborhood. He had to stop and talk to everyone on the street. We all loved him. He adored his girls, he always talked about them and his grandkids with great pride. And Kitty... he loved you dearly. You brought him so much love and happiness. RIP my dear friend... Gone too soon but your love and memory will live on in all our hearts.
