Obituary For Michelle Lynn Hartline

Michelle Lynn Hartline, 57, of Virginia Beach, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on July 21, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, and Memaw. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Michelle was born on February 26, 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was raised Catholic, and attended the Nativity of our LORD from Elementary through High School. She later attended the St, Petersburg Jr College in Florida, in pursuit of her dream of working in Veterinary Medicine.

Michelle moved with her children to Virginia in 1995, and made this her permanent home. Here, she made a 30+ year long career in the Real Estate field. Michelle loved to bake and loved nothing more than to have a cup of coffee in one hand, a book in the other, and a cat on her lap. She believed you could never have enough books! Michelle remained an avid animal lover. She had 9 cats, and fed every bird imaginable in her backyard. She had a talent for making people feel welcome and at home, and loved sharing her love of the Lord and the Blessed Mother with those who wanted to hear.

Michelle found the great love of her life in 1998. She and John were married a few years later, and none had ever seen her happier. Michelle had a deep love for her 3 children, and an even bigger love for her 5 grandchildren, who affectionately called her Memaw. She spoiled her grand babies any and every chance she got.

Michelle is survived by her devoted husband, John Hartline(Kayla, Lyndsey, Ashlea, Alicia), Her children Holly (Brandon) Seabolt (grandchildren Emma and Levi), Brandi Roberts (grandson Dalton ), Christopher (Olivia) Roberts (grandsons Thomas and Elijah); her father Laurence Pearson (Anne Pearson, deceased ); her sisters Tina Reck (Michael Reck), Jill Butt (Kevin Butt), and her brother Larry Pearson (Ysabel Pearson). She was also fortunate to have a large extended family to include Moni Slawson, Laura Daugherty, Lana Ponsonby, and Lisa Saunders, with a plethora of nieces and nephews. She adored having a big family.

A mass will be held in her honor on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 11AM, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church (located at 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462) with a celebration of her life to follow at Christ Gospel Church of Virginia Beach (located at 5121 Indian River Rd, Virginia Beach, VA23464).

Simply Cremation is assisting Michelle's family with the arrangements.

Such a beautiful smile and spirit! She lived a full life and her love radiated from her! I will remember our meeting over a tiny fur ball she named Daisy, the surprise visit I shared with her and cherish her hug and those moments always! A true gift to have crossed paths with her! Pati

I always loved Aunt Michelle's gentle, but distinctive voice. You couldn't be around her and not smile. She had a warm hug that matched her spirit. I always knew we were family by the way she loved animals. She will be missed so much. I know heaven will take care of her.
