Virginia Beach, VA - Nancy Agnes (Schnakenberg) Shum, born on July 28, 1950, in Bronx, New York, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 76.

A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Nancy dedicated many years of her life to serving as a secretary for the government before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her dedication to her family and loved ones.

Nancy was a proud graduate of high school, which laid the foundation for her successful career and personal achievements. She was a cherished daughter of the late Charles and Lilian (Duff) Schnakenberg, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her loving husband, Alexander Shum, and her beloved children, her son, Joshua Shum, his wife Shelly Shum, and her daughter, Jessica Shum. Nancy's memory will also be carried on by numerous other family members and dear friends who were touched by her kindness and warmth.
