Obituary For Nancy E. McLain

Mrs. Nancy Edwards McLain, of China Grove, NC, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the age of 77. Nancy was born in Charlotte, NC. She raised her four children in Charlotte, NC and Florence, SC. She lived in China Grove from 1990 until 2014. She and her husband, Charlie, enjoyed taking trips and spending time with friends, her children, and her grandchildren. She recently moved to Moyock, NC to be closer to family, but considered China Grove her home. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lynne Wolfe (Curt); her daughter, Lorie Hooper; her son, Jim Porter Jr. (Sheli); her son, Dan Porter; her sister, Louise Sistar Ledford; seven grandchildren, Stephen (Mandi), Andrew (Esther), Joshua, Corey, Lindsey, Matthew, and Trey; and five great-grandchildren, Naomi, Madelyn, Aubrey, Jonathan, and Alexis. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie McLain; her parents, Spurgeon Paul Edwards and Leone Sistar Edwards; and her siblings, Jack Sistar, Lucille Sistar, Lois Edwards, and Thomas Sistar. A memorial service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on July 11, 2015, at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC.
