Virginia Beach, VA - Phyllis Bissette Shuler, born on May 30, 1949, in Wilson, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 77.

Phyllis was a devoted wife and partner to her late husband, Howard Shuler. Together, they worked side by side in his construction business, where she managed tasks ranging from on-site support to meticulous bookkeeping and administrative duties. Her dedication and attention to detail were instrumental in the success of their family enterprise.

A high school graduate, Phyllis carried forward the values instilled by her parents, the late D. Hubert and Beatrice (Wall) Bissette, throughout her life. She will be fondly remembered for her steadfast commitment to her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, D. Hubert and Beatrice (Wall) Bissette, and her husband, Howard Shuler, Phyllis is also predeceased by her daughter, Amy Finch Galloway, and sister, Laverne Hill.

Phyllis is survived by her brother, Linwood Bissette, his spouse, Della, and her dear friend, Sharon Cronin. She also leaves behind numerous other family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence in their lives.
