Obituary For Richard Alan Murray

It is with heavy hearts that we announce our beloved Richard Alan Murray gained his heavenly angel wings on September 14,2023.
Richard, fondly known as Dick, was born on July 17th, 1949 in Staten Island, New York. He served in the Unites States Navy and retired from Sherwin Williams.
He held many titles in his life but his favorite was being a husband, father and Poppa. It was while he was in the Navy that he met his beautiful wife and love of his life, Patricia Ann, on a blind date. This blind date would turn into 51 years of a wonderful marriage. They were blessed by two daughters and the family grew with two Son-in-laws. Katie/Jason Hettinger and Jenny/Anthony Chiusano. His pride and joys were his three Grandchildren. His namesake Richard (Ricky), Cara and Abigail.
He had so many talents and hobbies. He would build items for us from scratch, he liked spending time on the ocean deep sea fishing and he was always up for a good game of poker or Scrabble. More importantly he loved to make us smile and laugh with his witty sense of humor. He was always there with guidance, support and a positive outlook on life. He loved nothing more than the time he spent with his family. He will be missed more than words can say.
"He looked at us with so much love and joy that with just a look from him we knew exactly how much we meant to him. We are so beyond blessed that God chose him to be our Poppa."
"He was more than just a Father-in-law. He was a friend and leader. He always had love and kindness to share. I am blessed to have had him in my life."

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
