Rick was our family dentist and friend for over 30 years. We are so sad to hear of his passing and our heartfelt sympathy goes to his adoring wife Carole. Rick was a very loyal friend and an excellent dentist. He was compassionate, kept anything you told him in strict confidence and he was a real family man. He was devoted to his wife Carole. We will miss him greatly.

Dr. Harris was my dentist from 1972 until he retired. My wife, who was afraid of dentists, actually came to tolerate going to see him. He was a great dentist and a good man. He is greatly missed.

Rick was an extraordinary individual--masterful dentist, gifted artist, and generous/loyal best friend. We shared so much together since high school; he will be sorely missed. Rick was truly a Good Man and now is his time to rest in Peace.

We met Rick through his neighbors, Ken & Donna Showalter. They had a pool & we would swim on the weekends. Jesse had just been born & they had a baby monitor to hear when he woke up. Lots of laughs & fun. When we needed a dentist we went to Rick. He was a great dentist and a super nice guy. Even when we moved to Chesapeake, we drove back to Hilltop to keep our dentist. Over the years my MS got the best of me & I could no longer get into his office or the one where he moved. I was sorry that I didn't talk to him before he passed and explain. He was always so kind and helpful to us.

To the Harris family
I worked for Dr. Harris late 70's to early 80's.He was an excellent dentist and I was always proud of the dentistry that went out of our office. Dr. Harris had very high standards and always held all of us to them in every area. During that time I babysat for Jesse. He was such a delightful child and so was Corey. Rick was a talented dentist as well as an artist. I am grateful for all he taught me about dentistry. My heartfelt condolences to his family and his sons. Keep him alive through your fond memories.

I graduated with Rick from Norfolk Catholic. I have very fond memories of him from our high school days and from time to time after graduation.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Words mean very little at a time like this but I mean it sincerely.
God bless you and your family and his friends.
