Virginia Beach, VA - Richard James Scott, born on January 30, 1940, in Manhattan, New York, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 86.

Richard dedicated his professional life to serving others as a Counselor in the health care field, where his compassion and wisdom made a lasting impact on all those he assisted. His commitment to helping others was rooted in a deep sense of empathy and understanding, qualities that were admired by colleagues and clients alike.

He pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor's Degree, which laid the foundation for his successful career. Through his work, Richard touched many lives and left an indelible mark on his community.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine F. (White) Scott, and his parents, Dominic and Genevieve (Lynch) Scott. He is survived by his stepdaughters, Jerilynn Calimer, and Cindy Gino, along with numerous other family members and friends who will remember him fondly.
