Born on June 13, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, Richard was the son of Raymond Storm & Myrtle Wilson. He grew up with a spirit of adventure and a strong work ethic that would shape his life in remarkable ways. After his military service, Richard transitioned to civilian life and embarked on a career journey that showcased his commitment to hard work and determination. For nearly 30 years, he worked at Ford Motor Company, contributing his skills and expertise to the automotive industry.
Shortly after he began working at Ford Motor Company, Richard's path took a wonderful turn when he crossed paths with his future wife, Carolyn. Their journey began during a diving school lesson. The connection they forged on that day blossomed into their first date, an unforgettable fishing expedition with Carolyn’s father, Sigmund Petosky. They fell in love, which led to their joyous union in marriage and they had two beautiful children, Lia and Brian, who they raised together in Michigan and Ohio.
Retirement brought new adventures for Richard and Carolyn as they moved to Kerr Lake in Manson, North Carolina. There, Richard spent countless hours boating and fishing. Richard was a gracious host, often opening his home to family and friends, creating cherished moments and memories that will be treasured forever.
Richard was an avid supporter of Michigan Football, the Detroit Lions, and the Detroit Tigers, finding joy in cheering for his favorite teams. However, his greatest love was reserved for his family.
