Obituary For Robert Philip Blanchard, Jr.

Robert Blanchard, Jr., 60, of Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away on October 10, 2026. He was born on July 30, 1966, in Warwick, Rhode Island, to the late Robert Blanchard, Sr., and the late Patricia (Mulick) Blanchard. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Del Padre, Sr. of North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Robert leaves behind his beloved wife, Karen; his son, Jacob; his stepsons, Eric and Darrell Andrade of Warwick, Rhode Island; and his brother, Mark Del Padre of Warwick, Rhode Island. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and two grandchildren.

Robert had a passion for music and loved playing the bass guitar. A true fan of ’80s hair metal, he enjoyed the music, the energy, and the unmistakable sound of the bands he loved. Music was an important part of who he was, and his love for it was just one of the things that made him unique.

Robert was also a proud and passionate New England sports fan. He faithfully supported the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Bruins. Cheering on his favorite teams brought him joy and remained a special part of his life.

Robert proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, an important and meaningful chapter in his life that remained part of his personal history.

Though words can never fully express the loss of someone so dear, Robert's life will be remembered through the love he shared, the memories he created, the music he enjoyed, and the moments treasured by those who knew and loved him. His spirit will live on through the people whose lives he touched, the songs that bring him to mind, and the memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Simply Cremation is handling the arrangements. At this time, no funeral or memorial services are planned.

May Robert Blanchard, Jr., rest in peace. May his memory live on through the music he loved, the family he cherished, and the memories he leaves behind. Forever remembered, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
