Said N. Abi-Saab was born in Lebanon on May 26, 1945. He was the eldest of 8 children. Said passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025 at the age of 79.
He moved to the United States in his mid-twenties to further his education in New York City and earned his Hans Krieks Masters in Furniture Design. While living in New York, he married Patty Jane Smith and during this time, their son Michael was born. Michael was Said's everything, and they shared an unbreakable bond that only a father and son can share.
Said was hard working. In New York, he ran several businesses. After September 11th, he moved to Newport News, VA where he met Barbara Padgett.
With her, he enjoyed traveling and nature watching after he retired from his successful career in automotive sales. He won top sales associate awards many times over and was a part of his company's Presidents Club. They enjoyed their life together until he took his last breath.
Said was extremely generous, and a very selfless person who rarely considered his own needs. He had a great sense of humor and carried in his heart a special peace and joy that could be felt by everyone who crossed his path. He praised his God for blessings and through trials, and he was grateful for every moment he lived.
Per Said's wishes there will be no funeral. Michael is working on putting together a ceremony of life privately.
Simply Cremation is handling the arrangements.

I'm so sorry for your lost. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. May the God Almighty Jehovah ( Psalms 83:18 ) comfort you and your family in this time of sorrow and give you peace and strength to endure ( Romans 15:33 ). Please take comfort in the words of the Holy Scriptures found at John 5:28, 29. What happens when we die? Some people believe that we live on in another form, while others feel that death is the end of everything. What do you believe? What the bible says: "The dead know nothing at all." (Ecclesiastes 9:5)When we die, we cease to exist. What else we learn from the bible? • The first man, Adam, returned to the dust when he died. (Genesis 2:7, 3:19) Likewise all others who die return to the dust. - Ecclesiastes 3:19,20. • People who die are acquitted of, or pardoned for, their sins. (Romans 6:7) There is no further punishment for sin after a person dies. Can the dead live again? "Yes!" What the bible says:"There is going to be a resurrection."- Acts 24:15. What else can we learn from the bible? • The bible often compares death to sleep. (John 11:11-14) God can awaken the dead, Just as we can awaken a person from sleep. - Job 14:13-15. • The bible records several resurrections, thus giving us a solid basis for believing that the dead will be raised up. - 1 Kings 17:17-24; Luke 7:11-17; John 11:39-44.
