Shang Shun Chang, 98, of Newport News, Virginia, passed away on September 22, 2026, at The Gardens at Warwick Forest.

Born on April 5, 1928, in China, Shang later made the United States her home and became a United States citizen. She earned her bachelor’s degree and dedicated her professional life to healthcare, working as a doctor.

Shang was preceded in death by her spouse, Yutang Pan. She leaves behind her son, Jianmin Pan, along with those who knew and loved her throughout her remarkable 98 years of life.

From her beginnings in China to the life and career she established in the United States, Shang’s 98 years encompassed nearly a century of experiences and change. Her memory will be cherished by her family and those whose lives she touched.
