Virginia Beach- Shelly Annette Flinn passed away peacefully at home on September 25, 2021. Shelly was born May 5, 1951 in Norfolk, Virginia and spent her early years in North Carolina and Georgia. She returned to the Tidewater area to pursue her career in Bookkeeping and Accounting, retiring as CFO of Physicians for Peace in Norfolk, Virginia in 2012. Shelly’s interests included the sun, beach, and precious time with family. She would spend hours preparing big meals, being sure to make everyone their favorite dish. She always found time with her grandson, Elijah who brought her lots of laughs and moments of joy. She is survived by her loving husband Earl Flinn, daughter Annette Yaba, grandson Elijah Yaba, stepdaughters Lori Williamson, Leslie Stahl, and Jaymie Johnson, and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Sandra Coppock, brothers Mark Coppock and Richard (Ricky) Coppock. A memorial celebration of her life will be scheduled at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Tidewater Autism Society of America in honor of her treasured grandson Elijah.
