Obituary For Sherilyn Kay (Shriner) Wilson

Chesapeake, VA – Sherilyn “Sheri” Kay (Shriner) Wilson, of Chesapeake, VA, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on March 5, 1958, in New Eagle, PA, Sheri was the beloved daughter of the late Dr. Thomas Howard Shriner and Janice “Cookie” (Affleck) Shriner.

A 1976 graduate of Bentworth High School in Ellsworth, PA, Sheri had a passion for baking and was a skilled cake decorator. She loved music and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She is preceded in death by her brother, Galen Thomas Shriner, and her cherished daughter, Tonya Leigh Wilson. Sheri is survived by her loving daughter, Tara (Brian) Murrill; granddaughters, Kaitlyn (Austin) Stokely and Kendall (Adam) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Westyn, and Beau Stokely; and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

No services are planned at this time. Simply Cremation is assisting Sheri’s family during this difficult period.     We grew up together as youngsters. Altho you were my oldest niece you were my sister. We enjoyed the times. We were there for each other. My heart will never forget you and those memories. Rest and be with family.

    Sheri was one of the kindest people, she would give anybody the shirt off her back (even if it had holes lol). She always moved with positivity and light and though we hadn't talked in a while, she always shared stories of her grandchildren, she was so proud! Rest easy, friend.

    We shared some good times, dancing into the night and happy hour drinks. And we shared in raising All of our girls together Tonya Tracey Tara and Tiffany 🥰 I will miss you Sweet friend 😘
