Obituary For Sheryl Mindy Levinson

Norfolk - Sheryl Mindy Levinson, born on June 3, 1950, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her hometown on January 11, 2026, at the age of 75.

A lifelong resident of Norfolk, Sheryl pursued her education with determination; she graduated from Maury High School in 1968 then went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Kees Business College in Norfolk that laid the foundation for her successful career. Sheryl dedicated many years of her professional life to serving as a Shipping Agent for Zim Cargo Shipping, where she was known for her diligence and commitment to excellence. Her career was marked by a strong work ethic and an unwavering dedication to her colleagues and clients.

Sheryl was known as Aunt Sheryl or SA1 by her closest friends. She played an active role in the Tidewater community, participating in a variety of volunteer work. Sheryl could be found at water stations or the finish line of running races, collecting food at events like Mayflower Marathon, or packing meals to send to third world countries. A master of deals, if you asked her to help find something, she could. Sheryl loved all animals, crafting, going to comedy shows at the Funny Bone, and enjoying dinner at the Olive Garden. With the help of Sheryl’s best friend, Brenda, they assisted a local women’s shelter by raising funds and donations.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jack and Beatrice (Grossman) Levinson. She is survived by her brother, Michael Levinson (Gail), nephew Jeffrey (Dawn and Matthew), first cousins Kathy (Jerry); Jill (Hal) and Nancy (Brian), along with numerous family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

In accordance with her family's wishes, no services are planned at this time. Simply Cremation is assisting Sheryl's family during this difficult period. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation, in Sheryl’s honor, to the SPCA, Food Bank, Wounded Warrior Project, or any other organization near to her heart. Friends and family are encouraged to share memories and express condolences at SimplyCremationOnline.com.

Sheryl will be remembered for her kindness, integrity, and the positive impact she made on those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that will not soon be forgotten.

Sheryl was a nice co-worker and fun to talk to about things we had in common, our crafts. I'm so glad we were able to see each other once I moved back to the area. Prayers for the family to have comfort & Sheryl is now at peace with our Lord. Tammy Poole
