Newport News- Sylvia Florence Flanagan passed away March 28th, 2024. She had been in hospice since December. We were blessed to spend a lot of time with her, that she met (and utterly adored) her great-grandson, Oliver, and we were fortunate to be there when she passed. She went quietly and, we believe, with no pain.

She will be remembered, with love, for her free spirit and sense of humor (both dark and light), and her deep love for her family. Her spirit will forever be present for any future "crazy five minutes".

She will be held in the hearts and minds of her family with love and great humor: her daughter Sonja Leber and son-in-law Brian; her daughter Amber Ingram and her daughter-in-law Brittany Wilson; her grandchildren Renate Dawn, Samantha and Brilee Leber, Spencer Ingram, and great-grandson Oliver Brandon; and last but not least, her sister Julie Flanagan and nieces Jade Alexis and Gemini Bowen. She was preceded in death by her mother Erika Flanagan and father Sterling Flanagan. She requested that no services be held, but there may be a get together when the family receives her cremains.

We miss her terribly and hope she is finally without pain. Our greatest wish for her is that she has finally found the peace that so eluded her in this life.
