Obituary For William Ralph English Jr.
William English, age 57, passed away on November 24, 2025, in Virginia. He was the youngest of four boys born to Ralph and Joan English, growing up on the mission field in South Korea.
Bill attended Covenant College and Regent University, obtaining a master’s degree in film studies.
Bill was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He especially loved spending time with his nephews and nieces and was always a favorite at family gatherings.
Bill will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his generosity and selfless service to others; his love for quality literature, theater, and film; his excellent craftsmanship; and his pursuit for justice in the political arena through his endless hours of research.
He is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Joan, brothers Paul (Judi), Tim (Jenny), and Dan (Jenn), and many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
A service to honor Bill’s life will be held on February 28 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Simply Cremation is assisting Bill’s family.

On 12/04/25, Laura Macintyre wrote: Bill has been my friend for three decades and was a remarkable human being. He was a Christian, a good neighbor, and a loyal and dependable friend. He could fix nearly anything broken and did this for me and others in the neighborhood, often at a moment's notice. He was kind, honest, generous and inspiring. I could always count on him and his expertise for home repairs. He was both intelligent and eccentric. He loved people and he loved God. Bill, you will be truly missed.
